Just a thought about the eighth continent "Trivia" of Grand Chase

The etymology of trivia is from a Latin neuter noun trivium.

The Latin neuter noun trivium (plural trivia) is from tri- "triple" and via "way", meaning "a place where three ways meet". The pertaining adjective is triviālis. The adjective trivial was adopted in Early Modern English, while the noun trivium only appears in learned usage from the 19th century, in reference to the Artes Liberales and the plural trivia in the sense of "trivialities, trifles" only in the 20th century. (Wikipedia.)

So we can conclude that it connects  three places, I just wonder..what could be the third one.

Then, it can also connect it with trifles.

New YouTube Interface.

Well, for the past few days.. I noticed this change. I dunno If I got it late.

I also linked the picture to the video so you can watch it.

But try to watch the original video in the description.

On Weiss Schnee's ability to cast magic circles (Range)

In short sentence, Weiss needed to lure the armor to her magic circle while in Episode 8 she casted white circles for Ruby to run through. What is the mechanics behind those stuff?

Quote 1: “Unlike Ruby and Yang, Weiss is analytical when in battle, waiting for the right moment to strike and retreating when circumstances are not favorable."

So, what caught me off-guard when I watched Episode 8 is that I notice
Weiss Schnee has the ability to cast “magic circles” at long distance? The magic circles that I’m pertaining to is what helped Ruby Rose to run upward the cliff and finish the Nevermore.

Quoting the transcript,

“Weiss raises her sword and creates a series of white circles up the wall, which Ruby dashes through by firing the entire way up.”

I believe that Weiss can’t do that. Or she left a link at Ruby’s feet and the color shift has nothing to do with that or the black one maybe.

Exploring the side of the atheist.

Honestly, it's been almost 1 year that I'm seeing the side of the atheist. I respect their beliefs. But the real problem that some theists actually view you as a devil if you tell them an atheist. Much worse, one of my classmate called me, PAGANO when I say that as of that moment I'm seeing the side of of atheist yet I still believe in God. It's also intruiging that atheist receives this kind of treatment unlike people with other religion.

Why can I conclude that? Because I actually loved God and it was 2011 that I was really devoted to him. It was also the year that I borrowed many Bibles and one bible of my friend ended up as a gift to me since we don't have time to meet. And I actually finished reading the New Testament and I'm halfway of the Old Testament that time. I studied at a Christian Elementary School. Practiced Roman Catholic belief when I was in high school. Absorbed every belief of born-again, Catholic and JW and explored so many religion articles in the net and books.

With these almost four months stay in school, I'd always say that I'm seeing the side of every religion yet most of my theist beliefs come from Jehova's Witnesses' ANG BANTAYAN wherein one of my classmates gives me a copy.

The actual incident that made me write ths article is that I happened to be on this site for some reason.
http://patas.co/articles/how-can-atheists-be-ethical/

And triggered my memory of the classroom

"Kaya 'pag walang religion, alam na."
"[Religion sets the conduct and moral of the people] That's why if someone has no religion, you know what he is."

So I defended the atheist by saying that

"Even atheists follow a set of moral conduct."

and that article answers the question.

Now, back to me..Am I an atheist?

I leave that question behind.

Grand Chase Veigas Teaser

So I saw Veigas' teaser and for me, all of his attacks are somewhat Ley-ish, Mari-ish , Dio-ish and so on.
He's a bit OP too.

Watch it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UArzznAKJzg

What's with September 11?

So again I started this day with lack of sleep and as soon I prepared a hot cup of chocolate, I turned on the desktop.
I checked the bank of my Bubblews and luckily it hit 25.12$ if I'm not mistaken. And since I haven't got my 2nd redemption... and I have a bad sense of time, I jot down the date Sept. 11 to my yellow notebook and wrote 3rd redemption.

But what is my first thought about September 11?

Actually so many.

My birthday. 2 months from now, I'll be turning 22. I should act mature. I shouldn't regressed to my old self just because I activated my main account in Facebook.

My elementary classmate's birthday. Upon choosing my main account to be logged-in, I never saw a birthday reminder about his birthday. Instead, I saw that today is the birthday of my generous aunt. Generous in a way that she doesn't forget her debt of gratitude to my grandmother by returning the favor to us.

September 11 attack.

"The September 11 attacks (also referred to as September 11, September 11th, or 9/11) were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks launched by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda upon the United States in New York City and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area on Tuesday, September 11, 2001."

I remembered so many stories about the incident and how did it affect everything even the restriction of some episodes in Pokemon. Also, some people spread some images of the event that has face of a demon. Some people shared something about if you fold a dollar, there's something that will happen to the image that is connected to the 9/11 attack. Lastly, I know some Filipinos died because of the incident. I remember a footage shown in the news where people are shouting. What a horrible memory.

Prayers for the souls of those who died.

RWBY Episode 8 Review

I'll describe this episode as the "Most action-filled RWBY episode yet."

Watch the episode first before you get spoiled.

So, the highlights of this episode for me is the showcase of their powers and the teamwork of everyone.

Also I noticed that:

Yang changes eye color when she's annoyed, not only when her golden locks falls or cut.
Nora's weapon is of a hammer and she's kinda hyperactive in a unique way. (Riding a monster.)
Weiss gravity-magic circle can be black and has some runes in it. Character-wise,Weiss can be a nice.
Jaune's and Ruby's leadership skills.

The episode ended up with Team JNPR and Team RWBY formed. But at the last part, the antagonist is plotting something bad and is need of dust crystals.

Dell Hymes - Speaking

Dell Hymes's[sic] SPEAKING Model

Background

Sociolinguist
Dell Hymes developed the following model to promote the analysis of discourse as a series of speech events and speech acts within a cultural context. It uses the first letters of terms for speech components; the categories are so productive and powerful in analysis that you can use this model to analyze many different kinds of discourse. Mr. McGowan patricularly enjoys applying this model to storytelling.

The SPEAKING Model
Setting and Scene
"Setting refers to the time and place of a speech act and, in general, to the physical circumstances" (Hymes 55).The living room in the grandparents' home might be a setting for a family story.
Scene is the "psychological setting" or "cultural definition" of a scene, including characteristics such as range of formality and sense of play or seriousness (Hymes 55-56). The family story may be told at a reunion celebrating the grandparents' anniversary. At times, the family would be festive and playful; at other times, serious and commemorative.
Participants
Speaker and audience. Linguists will make distinctions within these categories; for example, the audience can be distinguished as addressees and other hearers (Hymes 54 & 56). At the family reunion, an aunt might tell a story to the young female relatives, but males, although not addressed, might also hear the narrative.
Ends
Purposes, goals, and outcomes (Hymes 56-57). The aunt may tell a story about the grandmother to entertain the audience, teach the young women, and honor the grandmother.
Act Sequence
Form and order of the event. The aunt's story might begin as a response to a toast to the grandmother. The story's plot and development would have a sequence structured by the aunt. Possibly there would be a collaborative interruption during the telling. Finally, the group might applaud the tale and move onto another subject or activity.
Key
Cues that establish the "tone, manner, or spirit" of the speech act (Hymes 57). The aunt might imitate the grandmother's voice and gestures in a playful way, or she might address the group in a serious voice emphasing the sincerity and respect of the praise the story expresses.
Instrumentalities
Forms and styles of speech (Hymes 58-60). The aunt might speak in a casual register with many dialect features or might use a more formal register and careful grammatical "standard" forms.
Norms
Social rules governing the event and the participants' actions and reaction. In a playful story by the aunt, the norms might allow many audience interruptions and collaboration, or possibly those interruptions might be limited to participation by older females. A serious, formal story by the aunt might call for attention to her and no interruptions as norms.
Genre
The kind of speech act or event; for our course, the kind of story. The aunt might tell a character anecdote about the grandmother for entertainment, but an exemplum as moral instruction. Different disciplines develop terms for kinds of speech acts, and speech communities sometimes have their own terms for types.
These terms can be applied to many kinds of discourse. Sometimes in a written discussion you might emphasize only two or three of the letters of the mnemonic. It provides a structure for you to perceive components.

1. Setting. (saan nag-uusap?)

Talk about digital footprint

Yes, I'm so talkative brought by my lack of sleep. And also, we had fun with the make-up class in our Advanced "College" Algebra.

I also had a misadventure with my classmate during our walk in a high-way.

If I quote my friend, it goes like..

"That feeling that the two of you are paranoid. HAHAHA. So much pain in my stomach due to laughing. Laughtrip with kuya [insert my name here.]. Thank you for fetching me. So scary because it's dark."

Still waiting for my SMARTMoney MasterCard

I don't know if it's because I was battery empty during 10:00am that SMART didn't bother to call me again. But it has nothing to do with the 1-week waiting time.

Why Lamps!? By Ryan Higa

It's been a bad day for me and I actually wrote in my paper. "Watch Ryan Higa." Now, the long wait is over! He posted two videos (nigahiga and HigaTV channels)

Before you read this, watch the video first here : youtu.be/9hqIy3K5nUg

So, this video is all about lamps and Ryan reaching 10M subscribers. Sure there's a lot of puns, it's his edge. but what caught my attention is the stop motion video that reminded me of FU Music. (The longest filming ever yet - youtu.be/SicBgPWcFbQ ) Actually, I just started doing a marathon of Internet Icon S1 last August 2013. So if you watched that at YOMYOMF network, you'll get me. Anyway, it's really cute and touching. I really had the comment, I crie everytiem because it's really touching. Ryan made an analogy about his fans not being fans but lamps. on a serious note, at the end of the video, you'll see his statement about posted video 7 years ago thinking that no one would watch it. I really find it touching. Congratulation Ryan Higa :)

P.S. I really plan to make a Filipino Community for Ryan Higa. A campaign where Filipinos should not just watch Ryan Higa but make a Youtube account then subscribe to him! So that 1 day, Ryan will visit Philippines. I actually saw a fanpage about Ryan Higa Philippines to see if someone did it already. :)

Our Return on Investment: Sabsy Ongkiko at TEDxADMU Initial Review

Our Return on Investment: Sabsy Ongkiko at TEDxADMU Initial Review

“I don’t believe that you can’t do it… I see the spark in your eyes that you are eager to learn.”

This is how +Sabsy +Ongkiko started her speech and how she described the motivation of the students of hers in learning. Her speech as she conveyed it is like a letter to her students wherein it appeals to the emotion and mind of the people who are listening to her. How many times she tried to hold herself from crying and how many times she praised the public school, the teachers and the students behind it.

She also discussed that students shouldn’t believed when someone called them worthless and that always believe that you are young and you have so many things to learn. Aside from that, they shouldn’t let themselves to keep their inner potential. Whatever your dream is; whether to be a doctor or astronaut - you can do it. She’ll help you from reaching it as long as you help yourself.

Regarding the way how her speech progressed, it mainly focused on the contradiction of her belief to the belief of other people. People believed that she doesn’t deserved to be a public teacher because she came from a prestigious university. That people view public schools as something negative. That her decision- to teach in public school-was wrong. Yet, she believed that public schools are hope and public students are good.

Her goal is to convince people and students that in public schools, we can mold better students. That her ideals are to change the view and perception of people about public schools. Then she showed the result of her ideals, her return of investment which is a student who is better than her in Science and was admitted to +Ateneo. She also said that passionate teachers are invisible to the eye which means we cannot see how they help students to be a better person by educating them well.

In the end, she really said that she don’t care whether she is an idealist or realist. It is better to focus all of her energy to something that will contribute to the country, something that is important. In other words, students should be motivated to do well and teachers must be a guide to them to strive to attain the best of capabilities by teaching in public schools with love for them and to the country.
